Description
Palodal (bromocriptine mesylate) is a prescription dopamine receptor agonist and prolactin inhibitor.
What It Is Used For
• Hyperprolactinemia: Lowers high levels of the hormone prolactin to treat irregular periods, female or male infertility, low testosterone/hypogonadism, nipple discharge, and prolactin-secreting pituitary tumors (prolactinomas).
• Acromegaly: Reduces excessive growth hormone production, often used alongside surgery or radiation.
• Parkinson’s Disease: Helps improve movement symptoms (like stiffness and tremors), used alone or with levodopa.
• Lactation Suppression: Prevents or stops breast milk production when medically necessary.
Dosage & Administration
• Available as 2.5 mg SnapTabs tablets and 5 mg capsules.
• Should always be taken with food to lower the risk of nausea and vomiting.
