Description
Ethimox is a broad-spectrum penicillin-type antibiotic containing Amoxicillin as its active ingredient.
What It Is Used For
Ethimox treats bacterial infections by stopping bacterial cell wall growth. It is commonly used for:
• Respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, and tonsillitis)
• Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) infections (such as otitis media)
• Genitourinary tract infections (including urinary tract infections and gonorrhea)
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Dental infections
Note: Amoxicillin does not treat viral illnesses like the common cold or flu.
Important Safety Information
• Penicillin Allergy: Do not take Ethimox if you are allergic to penicillins, cephalosporins, or amoxicillin. Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) can be life-threatening.
• Complete the Course: Always finish the entire prescribed course, even if you start feeling better. Stopping early can cause the infection to return and lead to antibiotic resistance.
• Common Side Effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and skin rashes
